Companies seeking for ore or noble metals often set two requirements: drilling of samples must be quick and the results must be reliable. To meet with these requirements we use both diamond core drilling and RC-drilling. Testing method or the combination of methods is chosen by which factors each customer wants to know about ore deposit, mechanics of solid rock or ground water for example.

Ore seeking by core drilling
Diamond core drilling is the most common form and method used in ore seeking. Styrud has a strong experience of auger contracting and the drillers at Styrud have been drilling in the cold of Greenland and at burning Sahara desert. Yet Styrud's main customers are scandinavian mines and corporations in infrastructure.
Ore seeking using reverse rinsing (RC-drilling)
Compared to diamond augering this method has the advantage of more rapid speed and lower costs. This method also improves the usage of the deposits. RC-drilling bases on analyzing drill sludge. Sludge is blown on the surface of the ground from a specific angle and level, to minimize possible blending with other layer materials or the dust of the drilled wall.
Solid rock holes and production drilling
We offer different sized and directioned solid rock holes for mines and infrastructure industrial needs. Usually there's a need for different equipment holes into which electricity, phone or network cables and water pipes can be installed. We have also drilled large diametered IV-holes underground. The drilling method bases on sunk hammer method.
Our machinery is also suitable for profitable production drilling in open deposit pits and stone quarries.
When a rock is too far but there's enough of groundwater, a well strainer pipe can be implemented. It is made and measured the same way as a bore, but the water goes into a drilled hole through gaps in the well strainer pipe and this way fine materials (sand, gravel and stones) are being removed.
Screen wells can be used to retrieve water or lowering the surface of ground water. By using sunk hammer drilling method, wide diametered well strainer pipes can be installed even into a rocky ground.
We also offer a variety of test drillings; from simple augerings to defining of the rock surface and to more advanced deep drilling.
